My June Journal
How is June already here? I now have to admit that one month is quick. I am nervous to realise that we are almost cruising halfway through 2024. Do you feel the same way?
In this journal, I would like to share my plans for this month. They involve many things, from a work strategy plan to making a list to organizing a movement. Yes, we are moving home.
Things I look forward
WORK-RELATED
I refreshed the service I offer in my photography business around two weeks ago. I also updated my website to give it a fresh look with the new direction; it felt more aligned. It is still brand photography, and I am still working with coaches, founders, entrepreneurs, creatives, and individuals building their personal brands. It is the same. The only difference now is that I focused more on one service. Let me share a little bit of the background with you.
I started my photography business around September/October last year, and since then, I’ve met inspiring creatives and women business owners and photographed them. You get to know what they need and what gives them the most value while doing things I enjoy the most. I look forward to providing this service to help them soar to the next level.
For June, I am geared up to plan my marketing for that one service. And surprisingly, I now enjoy the process. The other part, along with the marketing strategy, I plan to focus more here, writing in the journal than on social media. Long forms of writing and explaining things for you work better for me than limited space in social media. I feel more satisfaction and less stress, trying to squeeze all in the “fast-food-like content” I am still there; I enjoy using those platforms, too. It is just that I feel a little bit of breathing space here in the long form of writing.
PERSONAL THINGS
The idea of moving home is exciting, especially since the new place is bigger than the tiny apartment we currently live in. And because of that, I’ll be able to have my own workspace. I have a lot of ideas for that. I’ve been making an inspiration board for this project since last month, cutting magazines, browsing the net, watching interior designs on YouTube, and all that. And I am falling in love with Rita Konig's interior design. Do you know her? I love how natural, warm, and “not trendy” their style is a very personal approach she brings to her design. I don’t have tastes similar to hers, but I love all her concepts. I might join her online class. See how I am taking this home project seriously.
Do you have an inspiration board in front of you? Nope, not only on Pinterest but on an actual physical board with all the pieces, images, texture, materials, etc. Maybe we can do it together if it’s been a while since you did that. You can adapt
to what you are inspired to do. Maybe a dream room? a dream home location? or maybe a dream job.
Another one that I look forward to this month is planning a weekend trip to southern Sweden, Båstad, to visit our friends. I hope this will happen.
Things I am less excited about
Is it even worth mentioning? The fact that we will move means we must pack and unpack, make a list, clean up, and do all that hard work and sweat. I honestly dread this part. I’ve been moving home every three years since 2003, and between 2009 and 2020, I moved to five countries; it was for work, though, so I got the moving company helping me, but still… Looking back, I don’t even understand how I did it. Alright, one room at a time…. and I think I will stock a box of ice cream, that’s for sure. And maybe I’ll give myself a present after all that…maybe that bag I saw the other day.
I am sure it is going to run as it always with life. Things you plan and some other surprising stuff, but it is going to be okay in the end. I am pretty sure it makes it even sweeter once it is all done (again).
I am curious..
Have you moved places before? Do you immediately make changes in a new place, or do you wait until you know all the lights in all rooms? I plan to wait, feel in the place, and understand how the lights come in every room. Well, we’ll see how it goes. Wish me luck!
