Why now is your time
Have you ever felt like an outsider in your own game (a.k.a. your own business)? Even though you are pursuing your dream and living the life you want, you still feel like you are not necessarily in the “arena”? But you are not a spectator either, watching from above.
You are in the arena, but you are avoiding the spotlight—most likely because it is uncomfortable to be in the spotlight. You want to be left alone and just do your work.
But I am sure you also understand that it is difficult for the spectators to see what you do and cheer you on when they can’t see you.
That is just an illustration. In real life, we don’t always have a spotlight directed at us. We can decide when we want to show up and when
we want to hermit.
Why do we need to show up, you ask? Can’t just good work be enough?
This is what I think. I believe you grow when you share your work by showing up. Growth happens when we do uncomfortable things and showing up is one of them. And growth leads to satisfaction and pride.
I can relate to this because I am on this journey, too.
I’ll bet this year is not your first year in the business; it could be your second, fifth, or tenth year or more. So it is not like you built your business yesterday, Where you need to feel the grip of your endeavour. The fact that you are still at it shows you love what you do and want to continue doing it. Do you agree with me if I say that you want to tell the world about what you do? Do you want people to understand your work more? Don’t you want to tell the world why you do what you do? What’s the story behind your work?
If the answer is yes, then the time for you to show up is now. Not later in the summer, not when you lose a few kilos, because ten years from now, it won’t matter. And because this is not going to be your only time showing up. You will show up in all the seasons of your life, the good and the bad and the average. In the future, you will look back and see the different seasons you were in the past and feel proud of yourself for showing up no matter what.
Showing up can be done in different ways: talking to more people, showing your face on social media, promoting yourself by sharing your work and story, being a podcast guest, and so much more.
Maybe even do a real symbol of showing up, which is letting yourself be photographed by a professional photographer. When was the last time you did that? For you or your business? Ever? ;) There is always a first time. I can help you. This is what I love doing as a brand photographer: capturing compelling images that look natural, professional, and modern.

Spring is here, and the days are getting brighter and brighter. It's the right time to finally step up by showing yourself more. It is time for you to open that door and step out, let the spotlight shine on you, share your gifts, and educate us about your work.
Have a great day!
